What Is Manifest Destiny?
Manifest Destiny was a belief in the 1800's that it was the Divine Right or god-given right of the Americans to extend their borders from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and all of the land in between. It was not a government policy, but it was a view shared by the majority of the population.
